Swift are back in Hertfordshire in good numbers and Swift groups are carrying out extensive nest survey work to better understand the size of the county population and where colonies are located - and we would like your help!
How can you help? Please submit as much information about nesting Swifts as you can – in particular Swifts flying at rooftop height, and details of any birds entering or leaving nest sites. There are several ways to submit your records – via the Herts Bird Club website, the RSPB’s Swift Mapper website or directly to Graham Knight here.
In the case of nests, the most important piece of information is the address of the property concerned, which we would request is included for whichever method you use to submit the record. For further details or if you would like more information about where you can survey, please contact Graham
