The Hertfordshire Bird Report 2021 was published and circulated to HNHS/Bird Club members in November 2022 (Transactions of the Hertfordshire Natural History Society, Vol. 54 (2), pp. 89-176.)

The report reviews each of the (provisional) 196 species recorded in Hertfordshire in 2021 including Green-winged Teal, Purple Heron, Long-eared Owl, Dartford Warbler, Iceland Gull and Grey Phalarope. There was one record of a singing Nightingale and confirmed breeding by Hawfinch.  Thanks go to everyone who contributed to the report not least approaching 900 observers. The number of records submitted for Herts again increased by a fifth to more than 342000.

The report is sent free of charge to Herts Bird Club or full HNHS members. It is available price £10 to non-members who should should contact David Utting, the HNHS Secretary
