High winds and anticipated rain mean a decision has reluctantly been taken to cancel the second day of the  2018 Festival of Wildlife.

Crowds enjoyed the Saturday sunshine and it was a pleasure to welcome visitors, including many families, to the HNHS bookstall and the Bird Club's viewing point at Panshanger Park. However, the gusting winds made it unsafe to use the usual marquees and our popular series of wildlife talks in the afternoon took place in the open air. (Congratulations go to our four entertaining speakers for adapting their presentations to the lack of PowerPoint!)

We apologise to everyone who was looking forward to attending on the Sunday, but trust they will understand why the HMWT organisers took the decision to cancel.
