Become an active member

Monitoring the growth of an ash tree as part of a long term study of wildlife in four Hertfordshire woodlands carried out by HNHS members.We welcome as members everyone interested in the natural history of our county.

Members can take part in all the activities of the Society and Herts Bird Club. Your subscription will support the work of the Society and in addition members receive copies of our newsletters and publications (as set out below).

To join the Society, please download and print this application form and post it to the Membership Secretary (whose address appears on the form), with a cheque payable to Hertfordshire Natural History Society.

Subscriptions fall due on 1 January each year. The first annual subscription of new members joining after 1 October will also cover the following year. Our newsletter, Field Notes, is distributed to all members twice a year.

  • £18 per year – Individual membership: you will receive copies of both our journals, The Hertfordshire Naturalist and The Herts Bird Report
  • £12 per year – Individual membership (Herts Bird Club): you will receive a copy of The Herts Bird Report
  • £22 per year – Family membership: you will receive copies of both our journals, The Hertfordshire Naturalist and The Herts Bird Report
  • £18 per year – Corporate subscription – available to organisations such as companies, local authorities and colleges – carries the same privileges as ordinary member.

Ways to pay your membership subscription
